Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Camp Avenue School!
Camp Avenue Elementary School, built in 1923 with two subsequent expansions, will be celebrating its upcoming 100th birthday at the end of this school year. It is the three story "grand dame" of the North Merrick school community. All of us are proud of our students' successes, both academically and socially. Our philosophy of being kind, caring, and helpful to everyone, is augmented by the importance of children learning to always include others.
Many exciting events are scheduled to take place during the fall season, including:
- Meet the Teacher Night
- Back to School Picnic
- Parent Teacher Conferences
- Halloween Parade and Fall Festival
- Fall Book Fair
- Cultural Arts Assemblies
This year we are excited to bring back many great traditions as well as creative new activities to introduce to our students. Our curriculum-based field trips are all returning, including our Second Grade Field Trip to the beach to collect marine life for their marine biology unit, our cultural arts programs, assemblies and clubs. Classes will continue to enjoy our various outdoor spaces to learn. Hands-on science experiments, STEAM activities, and wonderful digital learning activities are taking place all around the building. What an exciting year this will be!
